Not to take away from the role of neighborhood news sources, there are many alternative explanations: neighborhood size influences response counts, neighborhood population influence response counts, neighborhood size/population influences likelihood of a strong blog presence,  et c. What would useful here are rates (instead of counts),  and referral stats.
